i am.... dirt

Not a day goes by where I am not reminded of my past, filled with sin. Not a day goes by where I am not grateful for the mercy of God, that rains showers of blessings on my heart and submerges me in the crystal clear knowledge of the enduring presence of His love. He is my Stay, my Hiding Place, my Help, my Rock, my Fortress, my Water, my Everything.

What, might you ask, fills my heart with joy to the very brim and overflowing? What brings so much joy to my heart that it's almost painful?

Because I'm dirt, and God breathed life into me.

"...thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over..." from Psalm 23

One day I'll return to the dirt from whence I came - from whence Adam came. And Eve came from Adam. And Eve is my mother of ancient day.

Yes, indeed the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed life into him. Man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7) The difference between us and dirt is the breath of God.

The sweet breath of God.

Thank you, LORD God, for my strong, gentle family. The breath of God resting in each one of us. We are all miracles ourselves.
