- The Lord possessed me in the beginning of His way, before His works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was... by grace am I saved,through the water and the blood. Not of works, lest I should boast. For me to live is Christ and to die is gain. Jesus is my bread, my water. God is my Father of lights. Every good gift is from Him, and all things will work together for good in this life, for I choose to love Him. Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him. I will rejoice in time to come. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. And if I perish, I perish.
